Thanks, that wasreally interesting. Actually,I was born in Thailand in 1972 but my mother and I fled the country and came here to the UK. To be honest, I didnt care much about my Thai heritage until my mum died last month, now I’ve been trying to discover as much as I possibly can. Seemed like food culture was as good a place as any to start from! Anyway, I found a thai food recipe site here that other readers might be interested in too.

Been to Phuket twice now, first time was in February 2003, then back at New Year 2008. What a great holiday spot! It caters for everybody: if your looking for friendly locals there is plenty of them, if you want well-thought-of food there is plenty and nightlife is astonishing. If you want a cheap vacation, you can have it – if you want a expensive holiday, you can have it also. My mom is really in love with the place and has just bought into a bar over there. My kids love it too. What a wonderful place to celebrate Songkran!
